Last Tuesday I traveled to California to be with my best friend of over twenty years to await the arrival of her second child. Lyndsey and her husband, Keith, decided to wait to find out baby's gender until baby's birthday which caused a whole lot of anticipation, excitement, and speculation. I thought she would be deliver a girl, but Lyndsey thought for sure baby would be a another little boy.
I arrived late Tuesday night, visited with Keith and Lynds and then slept. Wednesday we spent the afternoon at a local Farmer's Market and I snapped a couple of photos of Lyndsey's 40 week baby bump and cute Mr. Henry with his guitar.
Henry was enthralled with this musician performing and strummed his guitar along with her.
She was really sweet and posed for a couple of photos with her adoring fan.
Later in the market Henry found the "Dinosaur Man" and happily climbed aboard his mechanical triceratops.
On Thursday morning I accompanied Lyndsey to her weekly ob-gyn appointment and her doctor suggested she walk, walk, walk to help contract and dilate and speed up baby's delivery. So Lyndsey decided the best place to walk as much as possible would be DISNEYLAND!
We had a blast and it was super fun to see my godson's excitement at the happiest place on Earth!
Lyndsey had another ob-gyn appointment on Friday morning and her doctor wanted her to go to the hospital as she was having regular contractions and labor was starting. So Keith and Lyndsey gathered their things and departed to meet their second child during Henry's nap time. When Henry awoke we decided to squeeze in some beach time before dinner. I can say with total confidence that Henry is definitely a beach boy. He loved every minute of our adventure!
On Saturday we joined the Valadez Family at the Pier for the Pirate Invasion. Henry loved seeing all the people dressed as pirates and the pirate ships in the ocean, he loved listening to the pirate band, and was thrilled to get his very own sword!
Finally Saturday afternoon, Henry's baby brother arrived! Benjamin Winter Yeomans was born on June 28, 2014 at 2:43 p.m., weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. Henry and I went shopping and picked up this Big Brother tee for him and a little brother onesie and baby booties for his new baby brother.
We passed the time until we could go visit with painting...
naps...
movies and snacks...
meals...
bike rides...
and park play.
Finally, on Sunday morning Daddy arrived at the house to drive both Henry and me to the hospital to visit.
Henry was super excited to see his daddy!
And he was over-the-moon excited to see his mama.
Reuniting feels so good
Unfortunately, baby Benjamin has had a pretty rough start at life. He has some respiratory issues and is currently in the NICU.
I felt very blessed to be able to visit him with Lyndsey on Sunday afternoon. I said a little prayer over him for his speedy recovery and asked God to send his angels to be with him to love and protect him.
He is beautiful and perfect and it's been extremely difficult for Keith and Lyndsey to leave their new son at the hospital. Prayers that Ben gets to be home and reunited with his family very, very soon.
We love you SO, SO, SO much Yeomans family of four. We hold you in our hearts and lift you up in prayer. Stay strong sweet Benjamin, keep fighting to get out of the NICU and home with your adoring family. xxoo
