Zoie and Nicholas when Nicholas was a few weeks old.

Getting so big!
New wall art for Nicholas' nursery
He's so alert and moving around so much now!
Today Nicholas went to the doctor for his 2 month appointment. He now weighs 11 lbs 2 oz and is 21 3/4 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile for weight and only in the 10th percentile for height...which is so ironic considering that Jeff is 6'5''. He also had to get 3 shots which he didn't like very much. I gave him some baby Tylenol before we went to help with the pain of those irritating shots. He is awake more often now and loves to coo and make sounds at mommy and daddy. He moves his arms and legs around and smiles all the time. We love to see him smile so much that we do the silliest things to see that cute little grin on his face!
On Monday Nicholas started sleeping in his crib at night. I think it was harder for me to have him sleep there than for him! I bought him a small CD player so he can listen to lullaby songs at nighttime and a 15 watt lightbulb so it's not too dark for those middle of the night feedings. As you can see he is nice and cozy while his crazy mama goes to check on him 20 times before I finally go to our bedroom to sleep!

Date night for mom & dad
Tonight baby Nicholas is going to Grammy and Grandpa Hargrave's house for a few hours while Jeff and I go out to dinner and watch the new Batman movie for our 3 year anniversary. My parents are so excited to have Nicholas all to themselves for a few hours, and while I never like leaving our little guy, I must say I am looking forward to some one-on-one time with my husband! Plus, since Jeff is going to start working six 12 hour days next week, he is taking off this Thursday and Friday, so I did too! It should be the start of a great four-day weekend!

Ready for summer
Zoie and Nicholas when Nicholas was a few weeks old.I had to share this photo of Nicholas all ready to go on the river. I bought him some sunglasses and a big hat to keep the sun off his face...you can't see it very well but he's also sporting a rash guard and swim trunks...so tiny and adorable! He was content as can be. He's a water baby already which is such a relief to both Jeff and I because we are on the water in the summer as much as possible! Also, today our little guy is two months old. We spent a lazy, relaxing day at home in our PJ's, then later in the afternoon went to Uncle Chris and Aunt Eva's place for dinner and some time outside. They just moved into a place that has lots of land so Jeff spent some time riding Eva's quad on the trails and Nicholas and I walked the property with Aunt Jami and the dogs. Nicholas loves his cousin, Zoie, who's five-years-old. She holds him and helps him to fall asleep faster. I call her the "baby whisperer."

Quite the little model
In June while my best friend, Lyndsey, was here to visit she took the most amazing photographs of Nicholas. I posted a few in a previous blog and wanted to post a few more. The middle photo really captures what Nicholas looks like every day-just a happy and sweet baby boy.
