We are so grateful to a couple of super helpful state Representatives, Jamie Herrera Buetler & Paul Harris, who helped us find some state funding for medically fragile kids like Nicholas. Paul Harris was ready to help us write new legislation, if needed, but it never had to come to that as we found out about the Individual and Family Services Program through Washington State. Nicholas applied and qualified and it will be so helpful to provide medical assistance, respite care, and other services he will need as he grows.
Nicholas and Ella wore their matching "Never Give Up" tees purchased from The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation (Gwendolyn is a year older than Nicholas, also living with SMA) to say THANK YOU to the two state representatives that helped us find the program we had been searching for. God bless you both!
